Record : 37-20 ASUN : 19-11 Tournament : 4-0 RPI : 32 Head to head vs KSU : 4-3 Championship Saturday is here and our Liberty Flames are here once again.  The offense has smashed it's way to the title game putting up 44 runs along the way on 4 different pitching staffs.  Based on how the matchups have went so far this year and the fact we are the end of a 5 game run in as many days I would expect some offensive fireworks again today.  This time of year things are kept very close to the vest but I would fully expect Trey Gibson to get the ball for the Flames.  Liberty also still has Trey Carter, Ty Germanowski & Cade Hungate completely fresh for multi innings stints.  Further, I would expect Beamon & Erickson to be available today as well as Fluharty and Cumming for limited action based on tournament usage.  KSU comes into the game at #48 in the RPI and a 2 and 2 record in the Tournament including a 12 to 6 loss to Liberty in the 2nd game of pool play.  They also lost to L
Record: 35-20 Asun: 19-11 Pool Play: 2 - 0 RPI: 38 Quad 1: 3-7 Quad 2: 13-6 Liberty has come out hot in this new 2022 ASUN tourney format in Fort Myers.  First, they won 4 to 3 behind 2 Brady Gulakowski homers and strong pitching from Cumming & Fluharty in FGCU's home park.  Next, they doubled up KSU 12 to 6 behind another 3-run homer from Gulakowski and a late 3 run homer from Anderson that would put the game out of reach.  Liberty jumped out to an early 6 to 0 lead before KSU erased the defecit and timed the game up.  Freshman Nick Moran would battle through 4 innings while allowing 6 earned runs on 70 pithces.  Max Alba would come on and deliver 4 shutout innings to stabilize the Flames in yet another great outing from the pen.  Beamon pitched a scoreless 9th to secure the victory.  A month ago, it looked like Alba's 2022 season was dead in its tracks.  Fast forward and Alba has become a key piece to the equation down the stretch.   Liberty will turn it's attention
Record: 30 and 17 ASUN : 16-8 (1st in East) RPI : 43 Quad 1 : 5-8  Quad 2:  4-2 Liberty lost a 2 to 1 heart breaker on Wednesday night in Blacksburg against the 5th ranked Hokies.  VT has featured an explosive offense all year and had not been shut out all year.  The Flames carried a shutout until the very last out of the game.  Neither team could get much in the way of offense going.  Liberty picked up it's lone run on a infield singer/error and then an errant throw that allowed Orndorff to get to second.  Hillier would then drive him in with a single.  Liberty has 8 games in 11 days and needed to conserve pitching.  Trey Gibson went 2 scoreless innings and was as sharp as he has been in 2022.  Cole Garrett pitched a scoreless third before Max Alba came in and delivered 2 very good innings as well.  Alba kept the ball down in the zone and had serious bite on his off-speed.  Next up, was the Saturday starter Dylan Cumming who would almost carry the Flames to the finish line.  He
Record: 29-15 Asun: 15-7 (1st place by 1/2 game)  RPI: 39 Quad 1: 5-7 Quad 2 : 4-2  Liberty won 7 to 5 over Jacksonville on Friday with a game that had a little bit of everything.  Liberty pulled out to an early 4 to 0 lead behind a barrage of early doubles.  Mason Adams and the Dolphins would claw back into the game.  Adams is one of the better starters in the league as he can run it up to the low 90's and everything he throws has good movement.  Liberty was just 4 and 14 all time against the Dolphins before the win.  Horn would go 5 innings and allow just 2 run despite not having his best stuff.  HC Scott Jackson noted post game that that most teams have swung at the elevated fastball from Horn and got behind this year but the Dolphins took a more disciplined approach that drove his pitch count up.  They also put some of the best swings of anybody that I have seen all year have against Horn.  The bullpen was leaky all game but did just enought to hang onto the weekend.  The Flam
