November 10, 2021 The Flames will also add Sully Holmes from LCA today to the 22 class.  Holmes is an athletic 3 sport star including basketball & football for LCA.  Holmes was ranked as the 21st best pitcher in the state by Perfect Game.  He's 6'3 180 and sits 87-90.  Holmes could play as a starter at the collegiate level with his frame and continue development.  Multi sport stars often blossom in their early years of college as they focus in on their main sport.   The Flames are thrilled to have another local product with huge upside.  Welcome Sully to Flames Nation. #Risewithus Brent

November 10, 2021 It's signing day!  It sounds like the Flames are expecting around 8 NLI's not counting Brylan Green who is expected to join the athletics program for Football and Baseball and sign in the December football period as earlier noted.   Let's start with a huge signing in Todd Hudson.  The 2 way player out of Riverbluff High School in Lexington SC is a massive signing for the Flames.  He's 6'5 and is ranked #227 nationally by Perfect Game.  He sits 89-91 from as a RHP and has big time potential as a left handed hitter.  He could be a potential draft pick with the combination of tools that he has.  It's rare that a player of that caliber in the area he comes from doesn't end up with Clemson or South Carolina who are P5 teams in the area.  I've heard nothing but great things and he appears to be a good fit for Liberty in all regards.   Welcome Todd to Flames Nation! #Risewithus Brent
November 4, 2021 Liberty Baseball dropped the 22 schedule earlier this week.  It has come to look pretty similar each year in overall structure.  The Flames open the year with a 3 game set against the Florida Gators of the SEC.  The Gators finished the 21 season at #26 in Warren Nolan with a 38-22 final record and 17 and 13 within the SEC.  The Gators season ended in stunning fashion by going 2 and barbeque in the Gainesville region that they hosted with losses to South Florida and South Alabama.  Stetson also beat the Gators late in the season 6 to 1 in a midweek tilt thought the Flames will certainly face the best arms Florida has to offer in the weekend series.  Florida got a boost when the 41st pick in the draft Jud Fabian elected to return to school rather than sign with the Boston Red Sox.  Fabian is a 5 tool player that has the chance to be a top 5 pick if he can get back to his earlier form.  Next they face NC A&T in the home ope...
November 1, 2021 Realignment has struck again, Tonight's news from Brett Mcmurphy is that Liberty is likely to join a new version of the remaining CUSA holdovers including UTEP FIU & LA Tech and then add FCS members Sam Houston State & Jacksonville State along with New Mexico State as all sports members.  This is obviously big news on a number of fronts but makes for a strange baseball conference.  The other piece to this puzzle is what happens with MTSU and WKU who are rumored to be on the verge of joining the MAC.  If this revised CUSA conference would somehow hold onto them then this scenario makes more sense.  The immediate thought is that Liberty Baseball's travel is about to get real if this scenario comes to fruition.  In the rumored scenario with WKU and MTSU departing we're likely looking at FIU, LA Tech & LU on one side.  Kennesaw State is another program rumored to be interested in making the move and would make sense and could...
